Independent Celebrant Scotland FAQ's
As an Independent Celebrant Scotland Marriage Officer with TLC faith, I can conduct a ceremony which is fully legally binding and which can take place anywhere in Scotland, there is no need to do it all again at a Registry Office. I will work with you to ensure your day is everything you want it to be – romantic, funny, and focussed on you.
Could you elaborate on your professional background and expertise before becoming a Celebrant?
With a background in filming weddings since 2009, I've captured over 700 ceremonies across Scotland, the UK, and internationally. Specializing in diverse weddings, including Scottish, same-sex, and multicultural celebrations, my early experiences fueled a passion for conducting ceremonies. This led me to embrace the role of a TLC celebrant , an independent organization, allowing me to craft ceremonies without restrictions, accommodating religious, spiritual, and non-spiritual beliefs. The TLC Belief is where I believe that marriage should be based on respect, respect for yourselves, and respect for each other. This will enable the bond between you to grow even stronger.
Where can an independent celebrant marry you in Scotland?
Anywhere you like! Be at the beach, on the hillside or even in your back garden. It's your choice.
Can you perform weddings outwith Scotland?
Unfortunately not. I am authorised to conduct legal wedding ceremonies only in Scotland.
Can we have hymns, music or prayers?
Being an Independent celebrant means your ceremony doesn’t have to be non-secular. I am happy to incorporate and can even suggest particular readings, hymns, prayers and you can have as little or as much of these as you wish. Alternatively, you can choose not to have any religious content.
How does your approach distinguish itself from other celebrants, such as Humanist or religious figures?
As an Independent celebrant, I offer a unique experience. Unlike religious figures, I don't declare strict religious affiliations, and unlike Humanists, I embrace a broader spectrum of beliefs, welcoming spirituality or a belief in the universe without constraints.
